When you use your Bibliotheca Cloud Library ("cloudLibrary") app ("App") to discover, check out, read, or listen to books or other digital content, certain information is shared with Bibliotheca and others to make this a useful tool for you. This Policy is intended to help you understand the ways that your information may be collected and used when you use the Bibliotheca Cloud Library application services ("Services"). BY LOGGING INTO AND USING THE SERVICES, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION AS DESCRIBED IN THIS POLICY.

Bibliotheca reserves the right to update or modify this Policy, at any time and without prior notice, by posting the revised version of this Policy at this site and/or in an updated version of the App.

Login Information. We use the identification information you provide and email address, if you provide one, that you use when you log in to the Services to create your Bibliotheca Cloud Library account, which stores information about checked out materials and lets you access them from other devices. Bibliotheca also transmits this information to your library to validate your library account. We may also use this information to contact you regarding your account.

Content of Bookmarks. When you create Bookmarks using the App, they are stored on Bibliotheca servers so that you can access them from other devices. Bibliotheca will access the content of your Bookmarks only as necessary to verify compliance with the Terms of Service and as required by applicable law.

Location Information. The Services do not collect, use or store the location of your mobile device.

Usage Data. The Services may collect anonymous information relating to the performance of the App, such as application crashes. We use this information in order improve our applications and services. We do not collect personally identifiable information as part of usage data or crash information. The Services may use Google Analytics to track anonymous usage information. Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) Adobe DRM may be used for the protection of publisher content.  For content protected by Adobe DRM, Adobe will collect End User Data for DRM functionality and that data will be transmitted to Adobe directly. The specific End User Data which will be collected and transmitted to Adobe directly, and how the data will be used, is described in detail in the Adobe RMSDK Privacy Policy Bibliotheca disclaims any liability for the collection and use of End User Data by Adobe.

Other Information. Bibliotheca collects and stores additional information relating to your use of the Service, such as your book lending history, your reading position in a book, your bookmarks, your library and library identifier, authentication information and any rating related to the book you provide and your email address, if provided. To aid in the analysis of this information, it is associated with your mobile device through a random number generated when you install the App. However, this information is not otherwise associated with your identity or account information and is collected and used on an anonymous basis. We may use this information for business purposes, such as customer service, fraud prevention, market research, improving our products and services, and for historical, statistical or scientific purposes.

Service and Support. In addition to the above, Bibliotheca and its service providers may access your information in the course of servicing and maintaining the Services.

Patron Registration. Patron registration with your library may be available in the Cloud Library Application.  In the event you register with your library using the Cloud Library application you may be providing personally identifiable information (name, address, date of birth, email etc.) that will transmitted from Bibliotheca’s servers to your library.  Bibliotheca does not store any patron registration data transmitted to your library.  Bibliotheca disclaims any liability for the collection and use of this data by your Library service, its partners or affiliates. 

Within Bibliotheca. Bibliotheca may share information collected through the Bibliotheca Cloud Library app with other Bibliotheca business units. When we do so, these other Bibliotheca business units will use your information in a manner consistent with the purposes for which it was originally collected (or to which you subsequently consented) and only as permitted under this Policy and privacy and data protection laws.

With Bibliotheca Service Providers. Bibliotheca may also share your personal information with third parties we hire to perform support services for us. These third parties are required to use the personal information we share with them only to perform services on our behalf, and will treat your personal information as strictly confidential.

Other Reasons for Sharing. In certain, limited circumstances we may share or transfer your information to unrelated third parties. For example, we may provide your information to a third party (i) at your request; (ii) to comply with a legal requirement or court order; (iii) to investigate a possible crime, such as child pornography or identity theft; (iv) in connection with the sale, purchase, merger, reorganization, liquidation or dissolution of Bibliotheca or a Bibliotheca business unit; or (v) under similar circumstances. If this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information.

Given that the Internet is a global environment, using the Internet to collect and process information necessarily involves the transmission and storage of data on an international basis. By using the cloudLibrary service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your information outside your country of residence to any country where we have facilities or engage third parties (including but not limited to cloud service or other Information Technology providers and other companies that provide services to us). You understand that the countries to which we may transfer information may not have as comprehensive a level of data protection as in your country

Bibliotheca maintains reasonable safeguards to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your information. Although we use security measures to help protect your information against unauthorized disclosure, misuse or alteration, as is the case with all computer networks linked to the Internet, we cannot guarantee the security of information provided over the Internet and will not be responsible for breaches of security beyond our reasonable control.

Bibliotheca does not collect or store information associated with your identity, other than identification information you and your library, or company provides to allow you to use the service. By using the Service you may provide your email address, bookmark notations and by default you consent to store transaction information related to your account. If you wish to change or remove your email address or remove your Bibliotheca Cloud Library reading history, or bookmarks from your account, you can do so through your Bibliotheca Cloud Library account.

Bibliotheca retains information for as long as Bibliotheca deems necessary to provide the Services or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

The Services are not intended or permitted for use by persons under 13 years of age without the explicit consent of a parent or guardian. Bibliotheca does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from or about children through the Services except as permitted under applicable law. If your child has submitted personal information and you would like to request that such information be deleted from our records, you may do so contacting Bibliotheca's Cloud Library Business at the address below.

Information about you may be passed to Bibliotheca Limited as our provider of Cloud Library in the UK. Such information will be kept confidential. Since Bibliotheca Limited is part of the global Bibliotheca, the information that you will provide us with will be stored on Bibliotheca servers outside of Europe and other Bibliotheca companies or business partners may process this information on Bibliotheca Limited’s behalf, but always under strict conditions of confidentiality. Bibliotheca Limited will keep this information to enable it to properly and effectively administer and monitor the customer relationship it has with you.
